HISTORIC EAGLE HOTEL
The first tavern on the Canandaigua to Buffalo stage route was a log tavern operated by Capt. John Ganson in 1798.  James Ganson, a son of Capt. Ganson, built the parapet gable Eagle Hotel shown here as it appeared in 1854 in LeRoy, NY.
Elise Lathrop in her Early American Inns (1926) says LeRoy, NY "was the largest town between Buffalo and Canandaigua, ten stage coaches passed through it daily, besides many immigrant wagons going west and south."
